The Unborn

High up, from your cruel hands,
I look down upon you oh ! mother.
Now you toil & bleed so hard,
you let him live, my brother.

Never giving me a chance,
you snuffed me before I could see daylight.
But with him you visioned a lineage,
a fixed deposit and a future bright.

You did not tremble, you did not weep
when you gave me that milk, nor did your heart bleed
when you saw the blood flowing in torrents
from my little mouth & nostrils.

For you had got rid of a liability,
with such ease & tranquility.
Looking at you son your eyes shined
saying my son you're the light of my life.

But today you toil day & night,
in your own son's house & what a plight..
No food to eat, only rags to wear,
with kicks & swearing,
praying for a death but that's no where near.

Mother ! Oh mother ! why did you do this to me?
Mother, think ,think back and thank the mother
who did not think of giving you the milk
YOU GAVE ME !!!

Henu (For My Best Friend)

Let me touch the sky for you,
take you through the rainbow's light.
Let me smell the flowers for you,
be your guard day and night.

Let me wade the stream through,
skip on rocks & puddles too.
Kiss the moonlight on a frosty night,
let me be your senses too.

Let me run with the waves & tide,
swing on swings high & high.
Dance & sing with the winds aloud.
let me be your voice too.

Let me hear the cuckoo sing,
people fight or a gossip or two.
A car’s horn, a baby’s cry,
let me be your ears too.

My dear friend for all that you wish to do,
let me be your sight, your voice.
Let me hold you tight in each step,
and share a life with all it’s vice.
