Karna

Eyes Unflinching he looked at that ball of fire..
No one could see it directly.
His heart tugged when he beheld him,
Never knowing the reason, why so?
No, he didn’t even have to blink,
Nor its heat scorched him.
But when he gazed at it
Nothing but a soft glow engulfed him.
It’s warmth going to his core.
Oh! How could he explain this tie?

No matter how hurt he was,
One look at that titan hue
would bring a halt to the tumult his heart went through.
The harmony he felt at that moment, the burst of light that touched him,
Was a gentle caress, as if returning all his dues.
All humiliation, all the hurt, the curses melted in that one touch.

But, today when he is lying, bleeding and sore.
His father is not able to face him anymore.
Is the sun setting or  hiding behind the clouds?
No today the caress is not gentle anymore..
Slowly the lights are going dim, and the hyenas howl also seems faint.
Cold creeps in through his veins
The majestic sun looks helpless in vain.

Each Day a New Dawn

Each Day is a new dawn

Each day a promise.

Sometimes the day shatters

Like a broken mirror,

The shards embedding, leaving me with scars

and bleeding.

Still the next day I find a light reflecting

 from those thousand pieces,

breaking into a riot of colours.

Each day is a new dawn

Each day a promise.
